As of the first quarter of 2011, the report estimates that the Recovery Act raised employment by 2.4 to 3.6 million jobs relative to what it otherwise would have been.

That's 2.4 to 3.6 more jobs than the Republicans have created. And lest we forget after all the Right wing condemnations and refusals to take the stimulus money, they all held up giant checks back in their home districts directly drawn on the funds allocated by the stimulus bill they railed against. Republican governors were no exception.

Current estimates have the Iraq and Afghanistan wars exceeding 3 trillion dollars. No complaints from you Righies about that. But if your government spends a few hundred billion to create jobs during a severe recession, then the hypercriticism is completely justified. And you guys wonder why I put no faith at all in anything you have to say.

 

Where are the jobs that extending the Bush tax cuts were going to generate? Where are the jobs Republicans campaigned on providing in the 2010 midterms? We're six months into their tenure and they haven't come up with one jobs bill.

The popular theory is that the Republicans want to drive the economy as far into the ditch as possible so that they can then blame Obama for making the economy worse so that they can then win back the White House in 2012. Given their lack of any interest in actually lifting a finger to help the unemployed or create jobs, this theory seems to be based more in reality than anything else.

So if Obama wants to spend a million dollars a job, I say go for it. Another two or three more stimulus packages would be just fine compared to a party that is willing to destroy working people’s lives in order to gain political power. Shame on their callous disregard for the people of this country.

He is trying to blame the Repubs for what BO's own report says has been caused by the current administration incoherent policies. BO keeps claiming 2+ million new jobs but when it gets down to verifying his statements the story changes from "new jobs" to "jobs created or saved".
Exactly how does one measure the number of jobs "saved" anywho?

So, if I follow your logic, the republicans made some mistakes (your opinion), therefore, the dips are excused for their mistakes. Interesting theory, but I bet it won't fly very far.

Those greedy businessmen are not permitted to make any money (so that they could create jobs) and the government can do it better. I am not sure how you can get worse than "a million dollars a job", but I am sure you can enlighten us.

Not one of you three stooges has given me the number of jobs that the Republicans have created yet. You simply keep spewing your nonsense.

Not one of you stooges can tell me why Bush creating a grand total of 1 million jobs in 8 years and another 2 years forced by the Republicans in congress was worth the loss of $2.48 trillion over the 2001-2010 period. Go ahead and figure out the cost per job of that investment. I think that this is one of those facts that conflicts with your ideologue view of the world and you'll ignore it and keep right on ranting.

Are you getting the idea yet that you really shouldn't have brought up topic of jobs? Or is it just that truth that keeps getting in the way of the Right wing agenda again? Sure it is.
