You forgot the setting... his mother's basement.... oh wait, she lives in OKC: trailers don't have basements, never mind - her closet.
I disagree with about a third of Weiner's positions/votes on environmental issues. The cash for clunkers program was a mistake, in that the people most harmed by the program are the poor. I'm not a fan of giving billions of dollars away to AMTRAK, as I feel it's their responsibility to pay for any upgrades. I do admit that i may be wrong on that, as I don't know all the specifics. If the government included a repayment deal in the legislation, then I'd be fine with it. No one wants nuclear waste, but we need a safe storage site. Yucca may be the best place. I'm for responsible logging on federal lands.
Responsible logging on federal lands is an oxymoron if the private sector gets involved in any way whatsoever.
Free trade issues is one of my major weak points, knowledge-wise. It's just not my thing lol...so I can't say one way or the other that he's got 'em right.
I disagree. I'm not a logger, but I know a lot of them up here. Yeah, if they had their way, they'd cut down every damn thing in sight, but with the right regulations and enforcement, the forests would remain healthy. That said, it's too easy for those regulations to be messed with in Congress, and funding for enforcement can be denied by corrupt politicians, so yeah, I do have some concerns.
I was referring to profitability also, it's economically unfeasible to harvest there, particularly since there is no controlling for veneer grade vs construction grade lumber, it's a crap-shoot. The companies would always be better off harvesting in areas with less regulation and thus, greater potential for profit.
I have a couple of issues with his record on government reform. Pay raises for Congress should be left up to the public, imo. I am actually for photo ID's being required to vote. I just disagree with the republicans methods, as they use the idea as a political tool to rig elections. With the right legislation, I could vote in favor of IDs.I disagree with Weiner on lawsuit issues. He appears to be confused on soft money issues. I don't support soft money, it's corruption, imo.
I'll defer to you on the point, since you seem to know what your talking about. My view may be too idealistic.
I agree with Weiner (hope everyone loves seeing his name, over and over and over lol) on health issues, with the exception of lawsuit issues. I don't mind a cap, as long as it's reasonable, and has exceptions for unique cases.
I have some issues with his positions/vote regarding homeland security. I don't approve of foreign wire-taps. I'd like to see a standardized driver's license for all fifty states. I don't mind military recruiters being on campuses. I don't agree with the Iraq invasion, and the money appropriated for the engagement was mismanaged. I don't care if security has guns on planes.
I don't really care if they build a fence on the Southern border, I just wish our welcome mat didn't have a target on it with "Stop here for a second" written on it in Spanish. On other immigration issues, I agree with Weiner's record.
In technology, I generally agree with Weiner. One insanely funny thing: He voted "Yes" on increased fines for indecent broadcasting...LOL, the irony! LOL That said, I don't agree with that vote.
I have an issue or two with Weiner's positions...lol....on War. He voted to invade Iraq, which was stupid, IMO. He voted to remove Saddam from power. Dumb. I don't agree with the decision to try to get out of Iraq before the country was stable enough. I didn't want our troops to set foot in Libya, at least until the rebels won, and then only if they invited us.
