No one, it's not appropriate (though I admit that doesn't usually stop him).

His allies all went very publicly Rick Scott though. As you see from the fallout above.

So you’re all giddy about the outcome delivered by the swamp creatures, that voted in secret to hide their identities, just to save their a$$ in their next election?

    I said "glimmer of hope"

I wouldn't exactly call that "giddy'

So you have a “glimmer of hope” that this country will continue its decline that was exponentially expanded by this administration.

Well @Profiler I’ll tell you as a lifelong staunch conservative. This old boy is not a Gaetz fan. When he led the coup against McCarthy just in time for Israel to be attacked and we were castrated without a speaker…. I saw that coifed POS as an enemy of the state. Sorry, I would rather see that coifed head on a platter than in Trumps cabinet. The man embodies the term self serving politician and if Trumps agenda hampers his own agenda, he will look out for himself. Mark my words. If we see any trouble in Trumps cabinet, Gaetz will be behind it.

I don't care much for Gaetz either but he has already resigned from the House - so that bridge is burned. The pending ethics investigation report could make the next two months kinda interesting.

GAETZ is a vindictive, trash heap of a person. I don’t think he will get confirmed. If you ask me, this seems to be a ploy to put some some wholly nutty person up for confirmation, and once he fails, put up a slightly less nutty individual that looks great in comparison (who then gets confirmed)

No Gaetz is for real but also meant as a test of loyalty for the House and Senate. Johnson will get tested right out of the gate as to whether releasing the ethics report goes to a vote or not. Then each member based on how they vote. Senate will get tested @ confirmation. I view this as the 1st real power play of Trump's 2nd term.

OR, is the AT present choice a brilliant Chess move, worthy of Liren?

I suggest the PL members concerned and experiencing Trepidation should consider the excellent upside to the selection.

OK, he is a Pretty Boy. OK, he has that teenybop fondling thing dangling over his Congressional Seat. OK, he is Biff in High School.

BUT (there is always a "BUT") he raised Holy hell and kept raising hell when the majority of the Republican Party muttered confusing lip service over the Justice Dept. and 50+ signers of a document swearing to the Almighty that Trump sold out to the Soviets/the Biden son computer was a Soviet Plant/Trump colluded with the Soviets for 2...TWO POTUS Election cycles/ the Clinton phones-classified documents destruction and mishandling/Trump urinating on a couple of ladies of the night/the withholding of secret information of immanent attack of Israel-which, BTW, had nothing-nothing! to do with the McCarthy ouster (thank goodness that occurred) who talked cutely about Israel but blocked 3 defense acquisition funding for weaponry for Israel)/ the AT cooperating with GA. and NY to file multiple Charges against Trump/the raid on the Trump home and business and filing Cases against his children.....all initiated by a corrupt Justice Dept., which Gaetz to this day yells and yells and screams at the lackadaisical attitude of fellow Republican Party members to all of the above.

Israel, he is a loudmouth...actually foot in mouth.....speechifier concerning his supposed anti-Jewish appearing diatribes. However, he has a very strong point concerning the intrusion of the Anti-Semitic Bill on the Constitution. As a practical matter it is a very excellent point, and our Representatives shied away from addressing the intrusion on the Constitution. I firmly agree that the Bill was an assault on the Constitution regarding Free Speech and Freedom of Religion to believe or not believe and violation of Church and State separation.

Is any member here not aware that POTUS-ELECT IS aware of all this and Gaetz shenaniganigans and more directly that the POTUS-ELECT immediate family is deeply connected to the Jewish State and that the POTUS-ELECT IS without doubt the most open supporter and fan of Israel than any previous POTUS in our history?
I forget...who moved our Embassy in Israel?

As I mentioned, Chess.... keep the opponent baffled.

I won't repeat I know stuff, because on this subject any and all PL members know this, and if not, the CR is your friend.

Truth in editing: added an "r'' where required. Sue me....

I have no question in my mind that Trump is fully in command this time around and is keenly aware of what he is doing and who he is appointing to roll up their sleeves and do the hard work required to address the vision he has for our future... One that I wholeheartedly support. I only believe that given the immense agenda he has put forth, the last thing he needs is a weak link in the chain and I fear that Gaetz could be that weak link. I do hope I am wrong.

I think he'll get confirmed. I also don't think Trump is that... plotting. This is just another example of "he is who we thought he was"

I think he's rewarding Gaetz for being a true loyalist. It was touched on briefly here, but Gaetz resigned from the house 2 days before it was reportedly planned the ethics investigation was to potentially be released. Now that he's not in congress, the committee has no jurisdiction to continue the investigation. It's dead.

Well tell us how you really feel. Tbh I’m not a Gaetz fan, but his objection to the McCarthy speakership was welcomed. He was just a swamp go along to get along type. The attack on Israel is absolutely the fault of the weakness of this present administration. The house wasn’t “castrated” because McHenery was speaker pro tempore and served until Johnson was elected to speaker. He’ll have a tough time getting confirmation but it’s sending a message to the partisan community in the DOJ, FBI, and the rest of the politicized government agencies.

Ok, who are the “we”? Be specific because I already know what the leftist political party and media has described him as so now go on record with your own words about “he is who we thought he was”.

Just a colloquialism, thats why I put it in quotes. I grew up with a lot of people using it, but I never knew the origin until now.

I grew up near Chicago so I didn't realize how local the phrase was.

Outside of the original context, it's now usually used to refer to sports teams (the Bears 99%of the time...) that have a little bit of a turnaround mid-season, only to show they still suck.
