Being a member of Tucker Nation, I listened to the entire two hours. Putin is a a scary man that is fully convinced he has a higher purpose on this planet. Tucker is a master at weaving his thoughts into words and he is never short for words. But Putin commanded the floor. It was difficult for Tucker to get questions into that two hour propaganda speech. Scared me…. What scared me more is Tuckers after the interview monologue. I had the distinct feeling that Putin hypnotized the man.
I think Putin's sole agenda is to stay in power. He has amassed trillions in assets/ that he stole from oligrachs/ who themselves were crooks. When the USSR fell apart in 89/ the ex Soviet heads of agencies like petro-chemicals/ mines/ lumber just seized everything becoming wealthy overnight. Yeltsin was too drunk most of the time to have stopped it from happening. Finally when he gave Putin the reins of power/ some oligrachs wanted to take his position. Putin realizing this, ordered his FSB to arrest these guys/ after "short Stalin like show trials" They ended up in the gulag. So/ Putin now in control/ ordered a meeting with the rest of these oligrachs/ who gave Putin a 50/50 cut/ thus he became VERY $$$$$. In past 20 years, Putin has made lots of enemies/ relatives of people he killed/ imprisoned. This War is his way of staying in power for now. Ukraine now are attacking Oil/ gas facilities (seven in last ten days) also rail transport/ electric grid/ much of Russia is freezing due to poor maintenance, the economy is suffering. It may end very bad for him and Russia.
I would add that Mr. Carlson was advised by FSB on what he was allowed to ask Putin. However/ Putin showed the entire world audience how delusional he really is. Scary thing is most Russians feel the same way. Seen little girls in kindergarten marching with toy rifles singing patriotic BS. I gave that a casual listen. It struck me as quite odd as well..... He also had a piece about riding the Russian public transport and he went on and on about the safety and nice surroundings..... I think tied together he was trying to make a statement that we take these things for granted and allow them to become eyesores and unsafe places with the societal decay we have allowed to take hold.
Outside of Moscow/ St. Petersburg its VERY primitive/ most have no running water/ electricity/ paved roads. Everything East of the Urals is another world. In Russia the top 1% of the top 1% have accumalated tremendous wealth/ while the average Russian lives off 500US a month.
