Who has heard that the US has 25 days of diesel fuel left?

Has not been this low since 2008. Guess what uses diesel. The trucks that bring our food/supplies to stores. This will hit after the elections. Right now it is not common knowledge.

Better stock up as gas prices going up also. We are in a world of hurt. The Republicans cannot turn the ship and will get blamed for the riots that will break out.

That's not how this works. It is on the low end and a problem, but it's not going to be running out in 20 or so days. Here's a historical graph showing how many days of diesel we've had left since around 2008 when we were last this bad. Typically we keep it between 30 and 50 days, so 25 is bad, but not the emergency you're making it out to be.

Looks like we even hit a few periods of 27ish days of fuel left in 2018 and 2019

 

I think it is more important to examine the trendline GW.

What I find much more troubling is that the supplies have consistently been either noticeably higher, or growing, going into the winter months of each year. We look to be facing a memorable year, and not for good reasons . . . likely to be quite the blemish on the record of Democrat policymakers.

 

I am having trouble seeing that from this graph. Did you take the numbers from EIA to figure that out?

If that were the case it would make some sense. We move a ton of products in the months leading to the holiday season, so you might expect a dip in the fall with a recovery in the winter (assuming anything that isn't already shipped to stores pre-November is already late for the holiday rush). However, I'd expect in normal years some recovery coming soon. It seems it may not happen due to low stock and high demand post covid crisis, but we'll see over the next few months.

In any case I think we can at least agree it's not a "sky is falling" level calamity where we will run out of diesel completely in mid November as OP suggests.

 

Diesel is in the distillate category along with heating oil. Both have supply levels at historic lows and some heating oil supplies are 60% below normal. With the holiday season and winter almost upon us, this is cause for concern.

 

Democrats had better get their crap together really fast, or they’re going to be responsible for more Americans freezing to death than those COVID deaths they wrongfully attribute to Trump.
