I know that Zelenskyy is saying that "it's a pity" that the U.S. didn't support Ukraine earlier because he's looking at all the dead bodies and carnage surrounding him. Maybe he thinks if the U.S. had offered support earlier than we did, the devastation of his country wouldn't be so severe. Is he wrong? Should the U.S. have offered support sooner? Or did the U.S. offer support at just the right time? One would assume that had the U.S. offered support sooner, more Ukrainians would be alive today. Maybe he's right? Zelenskyy says it's a 'pity' US support came 'after' Russian war began 'We have good contact,' President Zelenskyy said of his communication with Biden March 3, 2022 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he and President Biden have "good" communication but said it’s a "pity" the support came after Russia invaded Ukraine. And Zelenskyy issued a challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin: "Sit down with me to negotiate, just not at 30 meters," an apparent reference to a long table that has appeared in recent images of Putin meeting with other world leaders. "I don’t bite. What are you afraid of?" Zelenskyy added, according to the Associated Press. "Any words are more important than shots." Zelenskyy told Fox News’ Trey Yingst Thursday that, "We have good contact," when asked about his communications with Biden and if the U.S. waited too long to give Ukraine support. "I can tell you the truth. It’s a pity it began after the beginning of this war, but we have it. My appreciation to him and to his team. So we can speak now often," Zelenskyy added. "The question is not about Biden, it's more about indecisiveness of the world," Zelenskyy added, according to a translation. The Ukrainian leader continued, adding that the "whole world is late with Ukraine." Biden and Zelenskyy spoke for more than 30 minutes on Tuesday. The two talked about "ongoing deliveries of security assistance, economic support, and humanitarian aid," and Russia's attacks on civilians, including the bombing near the Babyn Yar Holocaust memorial, the White House said. Biden held his first phone call as president with Zelenskyy in April, as tensions between Russia and Ukraine began to rise. The two leaders have spoken a handful of times since, including in September during a meeting at the White House and on a call in December as Russian forces gathering on Ukraine’s border. https://www.foxnews.com/world/zelenskyy-joe-biden-pity-support-came-after-russia-invaded
I was just learning about the 1994 Budapest Memorandum in which the United States, Great Britain, and Russia guarantee Ukrainian sovereignty IN ECHANGE FOR all their nuclear weapons. Would Russia be doing what they're doing if Ukraine still had nukes? I doubt it. We should immediately establish a No-Fly zone over the entirety of Ukraine and invite Russia to leave. I think we have an obligation to do something more than we're doing.
Russia began a troop buildup along the Ukrainian border in November, 2021. Can anyone believe we (U.S.) had no information regarding the goal of Putin as he kept increasing his war machine along the eastern border of Ukraine? And what about NATO? Did they not perceive the threat? Did they have no information from inside sources of the threat posed to the Ukraine. Putin placed his military on a nuclear footing and told the world to back off after he invaded Ukraine, so the free world bowed to him and backed away. Does anyone really think the Russian Generals would have allowed a nuclear strike to occur? Military weapon support should have begun in December of 2021. My wife and I talked about the troop buildup in January, 2022 and agreed an invasion was close at hand. The sad aspect of this war is the "free world" allowed it to happen. What measures will be taken when the city of Kyiv is bombed?
I honestly believe NATO countries see Zelenskyy as a huge annoyance. Global Elites are playing chess and the pieces stopped moving.
